Trauma-informed care is not a single therapy — it's a framework that shapes every aspect of treatment at our facility. Our clinical team is trained to recognize how trauma affects the brain, body, and behavior, and to create a safe environment where healing can occur without re-traumatization.
Within this framework, we use several evidence-based trauma therapies. The Seeking Safety curriculum is a present-focused program designed specifically for individuals with co-occurring trauma and substance use disorders. It teaches practical coping skills across cognitive, behavioral, and interpersonal domains — helping you establish safety in your relationships, thinking, behavior, and emotions without requiring you to revisit traumatic memories before you are ready.
Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) helps you examine and reframe the beliefs you developed as a result of trauma — beliefs like "the world is never safe" or "it was my fault" — replacing them with more balanced perspectives that support recovery rather than driving substance use. Mindfulness-based grounding techniques are woven throughout treatment, giving you tools to manage flashbacks, dissociation, and emotional overwhelm in the moment.
